Cleaning of the seabed, recovery posidonia beached and support to the Center turtles: the parties in the AMP Legambiente Aegadian volunteer camps

Also this year were started, the environmental volunteer camps organized by Legambiente at the Marine Protected Area Aegadian.

The program, which provides 4 fields than a week for the entire month of August, It started with a field under 18, from 7 al 13 August, which involved a group of 12 volunteers from all over Italy, but also from Stuttgart and London.

Under the supervision of different operators AMP, the guys have ventured into various activities to safeguard and environmental emergency, performing, in particular:
· Cleaning of the seabed under the coast, with mask and snorkel, picking up cigarette butts and plastic, under the guidance of biologist Martina Gaglioti; this week have been cleared the beach of Praia and Cala Fumere;
· Collection and sustainable management of beached Posidonia oceanica, according to the protocol developed by ENEA; this activity, held here at White Cove, in locations Calamoni, under the guidance of Dr. Clelia De Simone, It consists in accumulating the dry Posidonia beached, cleaned from any waste, in poorly accessible coves, freeing stretches of beach and improving facilities for tourists, without harming the environment;
· Assistance at the First Aid Center for Sea Turtles of the Marine Protected Area, in host activities to the public and in the treatment of animals in hospital, under the guidance of the head of the Center, biologist Giorgia Comparetto.

The children also took part in training on marine protected area issues and the marine environment, at the headquarters of the AMP and First Aid Center for turtles.
Over the next three volunteer camps the same activities will be conducted in other places of the island.
